Q. I want to buy 8 weeks’ worth of hire, do I have to use all my weeks at once?
Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. No, You can use 8 separate weeks of hire if you wish, or use in multiples of 2 weeks or 3 weeks. It really is up to you.
A. We do cater for dog owners but there is a £40 charge per week for extra valeting. Please let us know in advance if you wish to take your dog to allow us more time for valeting. We ask that you do not leave your pet unattended in the vehicle or to allow it on soft furnishings without a cover.
Q. Do you permit smoking in your motor-homes?
A. We kindly ask that you do not smoke in any of our motor-homes.
Q. Is bedding included?
A. Freshly laundered mattress protectors and under sheets are provided as standard. You will need to bring your own quilts and pillows. Please ask us however if you are coming from overseas and we will be happy to help.
Q. Will we be warm enough?
A, While the folks in tents will be cold, you will always be ‘Warm and Toasty’, even in winter conditions thanks to the motor-homes blown air central heating.
Q. Will my licence allow me to drive the vehicle?
A. Our insurer allows us to hire our motor-homes to drivers between the ages of 25 – 70. Our Autotrail Cheyenne 660 is however over 3500 Kg’s and therefore requires you to have passed your driving test before 1996 or have the relevant license.
We will require the driver to be present at the vehicle handover and to have both card and paper parts to your driving licence available for us to photocopy. Please tell us in advance if you have more than 6 points on your licence so we can notify our insurer. There is not usually any additional charge for this.
Please also bring along 2 recent utility bills for proof of address.
Q. Is there an insurance excess?
A. Insurance is fully comprehensive but there is a £500 excess to any claim which must be left in the form of a deposit prior to taking the vehicle. This will be refunded upon safe return of the vehicle. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned in a clean and tidy condition and with the toilet cassette emptied.
Q. How many people can travel in my motor-home?
A. It is the hirer/driver’s responsibility to ensure that everyone travelling in the motor-home is wearing a seatbelt. Most 6 berth motor-homes believe it or not, DO NOT have 6 seatbelts. Please check with us before hiring. Our Autotrail Cheyenne 660 has 4 seatbelts.
Q. Do I have to stay on campsites?
A. Unless you are in Scotland it is against the law in the UK to sleep in a motor-home on a public road, layby or car park.
We recommend that you stay at campsites. Most campsites offer electric hook up which means you can use as much electricity as you desire. Some campsites or festivals do not offer electric hook up. FEAR NOT! Our motor-homes have solar panels which charge two powerful leisure batteries and, the central heating , hot water and fridge all run off gas ( provided free of charge by us ) meaning that you can live in luxury without electric hook up for a good few days !! PERFECT!!
Q. Can we leave our car with you?
A. Yes, we have secure parking for up to two cars.
Q. Is there a mileage restriction?
A. No, there is no mileage restriction. We do however charge an extra £100 if you wish to take the motor-home abroad. And yes, the vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracker system.
Q. How much fuel does my motor-home use?
A. Our motor-homes will cover between 20 and 25 mpg depending on your driving style and weather conditions. For example, from our own experience a trip from Warrington to Land’s End (360 miles) will cost around £85. From Warrington to Kewick (105 miles) will cost around £25.
The motor-home will be handed to you with fuel ‘near empty’. Feel free to bring it back half full but we recommend that you return it to us at ‘near empty’. There is a petrol station 0.5 miles from Cheshire Motor-home Holidays pick up address.
Q. How do I make a booking?
A. After checking our online availability diary simply pay via our secure online payment facility or call us on 01925 657443 and we can arrange payment over the phone. Click here to book online.
All we need is a deposit of £200. The remaining balance will be due two months before collection of your motor-home.
Q. What charges apply if I cancel my booking?
A. The £200 deposit is non-refundable. 2 months – 2 weeks before collection 50 % of total hire charge is non-refundable. 2 weeks to no show, 100% of total hire charge is non-refundable.
Q. What time can I collect and return my motor-home?
A. Please collect your motor-home between 2pm and 5pm. Please return it between 11am and 12 noon. These times maybe flexible in quieter periods, please enquire prior to pick up.
Q. Do you deliver or pick up the motor-home.
A. This can be arranged. Please enquire for prices.
Q. How do I get to Cheshire Motorhome Holidays?
A, It really is easy to find us. Come off at junction 21A, M6 and head for Warrington on the A57. After 1.5 miles turn right at the first set of traffic lights you come to. Go straight across the mini roundabout and we are situated 0.5 miles on the left. Look for a big white fancy motor-home.
We are ideally situated for the M6, M56 and M62 meaning you are within easy reach of the Lake District, North wales/Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District.
Q, Are there power points on the motor-home?
A, Yes, there are numerous plug sockets and 12 volt chargers (the ones you have in your car), so please feel free to bring along your iPads, games consoles and hair straighteners. Serious Glamping!
